Summertime is when everyone is grilling hot dogs and burgers. I love a good hot dog and miss being able to enjoy one at the movies. Yeah you can always just not eat the bun BUT sometimes you want that bread like texture to cut the saltiness. This recipe reminds me of the pretzel dogs you get at Aunt Annies in the mall, next time i'll have to make a cheese dip to dunk it in. Have you tried this recipe yet? Ingredients: 1 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese 2 tbsp cream cheese 3/4 cup finely ground almond flour sifted 1 egg beaten 1 package of hot dogs Preparation: 1. Make the fathead dough by combining the cheeses in a microwave-safe bowl and melt in the microwave for about 1 minute. 2. Add the beaten egg and stir well to incorporate into the cheese mixture. *Note: you can use a mixer, food processor, etc., but I just use a wooden spoon. 3. Add the sifted almond flour and mix well. 4. Place the dough between 2 pieces of parchement paper and roll to about 1/8th of an inch thick, creating a rectangle or square shape. *Note: I've used plastic wrap, foil and wax paper to roll out dough also, so use what you have. 5. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut dough into 1-inch strips. Refrigerate for 3-5 minutes to firm up and allow for easier removal from the parchment. 6. Carefully wrap dough around the hot dog, the dough is a little sticky and delicate but can be stuck back together if it breaks. You can also roll the hot dog on a flat surface if the dough is difficult to pick up. 7. Place on a parchment-lined baking pan and sprinkle with coarse salt or @TraderJoes @everything_but_the_bagel seasoning like I did😉. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. 8. Remove from oven and allow to cool 2 minutes. Serve with your favorite low carb condiments for dipping. Enjoy! 😋
